On August 25, Li Jianbo, General Manager of the company, led a delegation of five members—including the company’s Chief Engineer, Deputy Chief Engineer, Director of the R&D Center, and R&D engineers—to the auditorium of the School of Mechanical Engineering at Xi'an Petroleum University. There, they engaged in a technical exchange with Professor Dou Yihua, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering, Professor Cui Lu, Vice Dean, and 16 other professorial experts specializing in materials science, fluid mechanics, mechatronics, and other fields, focusing on university-enterprise cooperation. During the meeting, General Manager Li Jianbo briefed the expert professors on the company’s development strategy, product orientation, fundamental theoretical calculations and analyses conducted in R&D work, as well as the application of surface materials that are sulfur-resistant and erosion-resistant—highlighting the “bottlenecks” and “choke points” that have been hindering the company’s progress. Dean Dou Yihua introduced the school’s distinctive academic disciplines and the specialized expertise of its faculty members. Both sides then discussed and exchanged views on related technical issues and explored various forms of university-enterprise collaboration. As a result, the two sides reached the following consensus:
1. Jointly establish and operate the “Fracturing Well Control Equipment Technology Research Institute” in collaboration with enterprises, thereby obtaining recognition from the government as a provincial-level engineering technology research and development center.
2. The college has hired technical experts from the company as part-time mentors, who will participate in the development of undergraduate and graduate programs, topic selection, and thesis defense for students at the college.
3. The two parties shall sign a long-term strategic cooperation agreement, using project contracts as the mode of collaboration, and jointly submit their project outcomes for evaluation by higher authorities.
4. Both parties will mutually support each other in jointly applying for provincial and municipal government science and technology research projects as well as R&D projects under the “14th Five-Year Plan” of the four major national oil and gas companies, including PetroChina.
5. Both parties shall jointly develop national and industry technical and product standards and specifications.
6. The two parties shall sign a non-disclosure agreement on technical information.
